Happy happy happy Tuesday, friends!
Ladies, I was so motivated, encouraged and blessed by the comment section in yesterday’s post! I just love this community SO MUCH!! Thank you, thank you for your ideas, feedback, suggestions and encouragement. I loved it all 🙂 .
Yesterday, we bettered ourselves and today, we air our grievances.
It’s another edition of…
…and this one was EASY for me.
It’s TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE: SOUNDS.
I think I’m one of those people who really lean into the senses of smell and sound the most. I mean, I enjoy my other senses and am thankful I have them, but I’m reallllly into sounds and smells. I have already shared my TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE: SMELLS, so today’s post was really a no brainer.
Brace yourselves, you’re either going to highly agree or disagree.
When it comes to “sounds” here are my…
#5: A BABY OR PUPPY YAWNING
I’m already starting strong, no? I don’t want to hear a grown man yawn (gross), but a little tiny baby yawning is just the sweetest sound. It sounds very similar to a tiny little puppy which I find equally adorable. I don’t want to hear either whine or cry, but geez, please bring them over when they’re yawning.
#4: THE DRYER
I like to hear the sound of my dryer going. The washing machine annoys me, but there is something warm, soothing and repetitive to me about the dryer. Now, that loud “alarm” sound it makes when my clothes are dry is annoying as heck…but the rhythmic sound it makes while my clothes are cookin’ is peaceful to me.
#3: SPRING
Spring might be the opposite of my favorite season, but what fall delivers in pumpkins and gourds, spring delivers in SOUNDS! I love to keep my office door open just to hear the sounds of spring. It’s a very distinct sound only heard this one time of year. It’s birds chirping, it’s the splash of my bird bath and water fountain, I can practically hear the flowers growing. It just sounds like SPRING, and I love it!!
#2: A CRACKLING FIRE
Yes and YES!!! I love the sound of a crackling fire. I don’t care if it’s outside by a campfire or inside a lodge, a roaring crackling fire makes me want to cozy up with a hot drink and a good book. If I had to give the word “cozy” a sound, it would be a crackling fire.
But my very favorite sound is…
#1: THE OCEAN
It’s just hypnotic to me. It’s vast, it’s endless, it’s repetitive, it’s GOD…it’s all the things. The ocean is so BIG and MIGHTY and POWERFUL and yet it has this soothing sound that accompanies it at the shore. I love it. I hear it and automatically exhale. It is by far my very favorite sound.
But what sounds make me want to claw my ears out?!
That would be these sounds…
#5: A SOUND MACHINE WHEN I’M NOT SLEEPING.
Andrew and I started listening to white noise via a sound machine/app when we had babies and would hear it through their baby monitors. We got so used to hearing the baby’s sound machine that we started listening to it ourselves. Now, we all use sound machines (you would legit hear five different sound machines in my house in the middle of the night from each bedroom). I cannot sleep without one now. I love going to sleep with white noise in the background. It is a MUST for me. Want to know what sound I hate? I hate that exact same sound when I’m not trying to sleep. It drives me mad. At 10:00 PM, put it on and watch me fall asleep…at 4:30 when my alarm goes off, turn that stupid sound off because it’s annoying as heck. Why? I’m not sure, but it’s a fact about me.
#4: FINGER LICKING
Gag. Just those two words make me want to puke. If I see/hear anyone licking their fingers when they’re eating, I immediately lose my appetite. Needless to say, don’t invite me over if you’re serving wings or Cheetos.
#3: THE DRILL AT THE DENTIST’S OFFICE.
For the love make it stop! I don’t care if it’s the dentist drilling on another patient, I HATE THAT SOUND. I can taste that sound. Is that weird? As soon as I hear it, I get this metallic taste in my mouth. They should use that sound when interrogating foreign criminals.
#2: THE ALARM GOING OFF ON MY PHONE.
The worst sound ever. Necessary, sure? It’s also legit the WORST sound ever. It’s the most abrasive, intrusive, utterly annoying sound.
But it’s not my least favorite sound. If you live in my house, you know that this sound drives me mad…
#1: SOMEONE DRINKING (ESPECIALLY OUT OF A WATER BOTTLE)
I hate this sound. Ugh. It gives me cold chills just typing this sentence. I do not like to hear people drink…but I especially hate it when they’re drinking out of a water bottle. I really, really, really hate it when they’re drinking like they’ve just been found after surviving a week in the desert. The sound of drinking makes my skin crawl. I detest that sound.
It wouldn’t be a TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE without Andrew weighing in too.
ANDREW’S TOP FIVE:
5: When I hear, I love you, from Shay or the kids.
4: Live Music…..anywhere, anyplace!
3: The still quiet, dawn or dusk, while we hunt.
2: The sound the wind and snow make while I am snowboarding……just no ice sounds!
1: Waves crashing on Nobadeer Beach on Nantucket
ANDREW’S BOTTOM FIVE:
5: Old school alarm clock
4: Someone talking on their phone in public or the gym way to loudly
3: Slurping coffee or soup
2: When I am trying to sleep or work and the bass from someone listening to music is faint.
1: Spitting, this is the 1800’s people
And those, my friends, are my TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE: SOUNDS!
I cannot wait to read the comment section today as I imagine many of you have thoughts and opinions on sound too!

Love these! Top 5; ocean, fire anywhere, bagpipes (emotional cry), music…usually van Morrison or Sinatra, and outside sounds of spring as well! Bottom 5: scraping bowl or plate with your fork! Stop! It’s gone!, snacking lips, gum chewing , leaf blower, and loud talking. Shhh I’m right here.
Elspeth says
I love the sounds of rain, birds chirping, or the lawnmower to remind me of spring. I don’t love the sounds of someone watching something on their phone when they are in a public setting. It’s loud and obnoxious, if you want to watch or listen to something, put in headphones.

Mix and Match Mama says
YES TO A LAWNMOWER!!! It is a spring sound!
Laura A Fuller says
I am a sound & smell girl too! And I absolutely love EVERYTHING about a fire. The way the flames dance, the wood crackles, the smell!! The most relaxing sound to me.
Jessica says
Yes to the white noise! I can tolerate it if I know my husband (truck driver) is sleeping but if I see him leave the bedroom and that thing is still on…watch it! lol. Loud chewing, slurping, constant screeching, squeaking basketball shoes (basketball in general really…sorry kids!) all obnoxious!!
Alison says
Yes to spring! I also love a mild thunderstorm, especially in the middle of the night. Also, the sound of my kids laughing simultaneously.
Least favorite: any and all sounds made when someone is consuming food. The lip smacking, the loud chewing, the slurping, the open-mouth chomping… sometimes I want to take my plate and sit in the closet. Also, silverware scraping across the plate. Gah! Finally, unrelated to mealtime is snoring. Drives me mad!
ALLISON says
Oh I agree with SO many. Spitting, gross gross gross stop. Chugging water, no no no. The ocean, #1 for sure. Crackling fires, tie for #1 lol! Other awful sounds, when people stand around jingling their keys in their pockets, just stop. #1 worst sound on the planet is gum cracking/popping. Incessant pen clicking, stop. Loud whistles. This is why we are a baseball family and not a basketball or football family. I can’t even watch those sports anymore due to the constant bazillion loud whistles going off. Baby yawning is a good one!
Adrienne N says
Andrew’s bottom #2 🙌 Vague base somewhere in the background thumping and buzzing at odd repetitive intervals is the worst! I work from home and like my house silent.
Dana P says
Ha! Some of these give visceral responses and it’s so interesting. Some of my favorites: -snow falling in the forest. Amazing! -baby laughs -cats purring -my French mastiff snoring (right now!) -someone special’s voice on the phone when I’m having a bad day -rain falling on my car’s sunroof
Least favorites: -old school alarm, I haven’t had to have one in years and it still makes my skin crawl! -people chewing. Sadly, especially my beloved husband! -metal scraping across a tile floor -kids screaming when they’ve really hurt themselves and need to go to the hospital (by far the worst!)
Bonnie says
Get your kids Cheeto tongs so their hands aren’t messy and they don’t have to lick them! Lol
Mix and Match Mama says
This entire sentence is mind blowing to me. Ha!
Natasha says
My kids have started eating Cheetos with chopsticks! It’s been game changing!
Danielle says
I was so there with you on the alarm!! But then I changed my alarm sound on my iPhone to “Twinkle,” and it somehow makes waking up to an alarm very charming! When I first switched, the alarm would go off, and I would think to myself, “What is that sweet sound?“
Mix and Match Mama says
And it wakes you up? I’m always nervous a sweet sound won’t be jarring enough to wake me up. I should try it!
Melissa says
You can also turn the sound down on your alarm in your settings. I just found this out a couple of weeks ago.
Kelly M Sites says
HATE:
People talking on SPEAKER PHONE in a public place (especially an airport) WHY???????
The sound of silverware rubbing together (two forks entangled and someone trying to untangle) STOP
LOVE:
The sound of cello music- slow and peaceful
The Ocean waves beating against the beach
The pages of my book being turned. So enjoyable.
Mix and Match Mama says
A man was doing this at the nail salon yesterday. He was in there getting a pedicure and carrying on a phone conversation like the person was sitting there next to him.
Jaime says
I love these posts, can you do a top five bottom five for Disney world restaurants?
Amy Heinl says
I love when you do these…
My best sounds:
1. The sound of the ocean
2. The sound of my windchill blowing in garden
3. A fire cracking
4. Sound of rain
5. Sound of my kitty purring
My worst sounds:
1. Someone smacking their lips when eating and/or slurping
2. Tapping of fingernails on a hard surface
3. Sound of chalk scrapping across a chalkboard
4. Sound of static on radio or TV when it goes out
5. Heavy bass thumping
Mix and Match Mama says
The TV static! YES!! Thank YOU for sharing!!
Lisa D says
Love these posts!
My top 5 sounds:
1 Sweet voices of my grandkids (just no whining!)
2 Birds chirping in Spring and Summer through an open window
3 The sound of the coffee pot brewing up morning coffee 😊
4 The quiet sound of a breeze in the trees on a winter day (not a roaring wind, just a slight breeze)
5 The ocean! I grew up near the coast and I LOVE the sound. My first choice for a vacation is always to go stay by the sea. It’s my favorite sound in the whole world!
Bottom 5 sounds:
1 Whining children.
2 Crinkling paper during a movie. Just hush
3 Snorting and spitting, oh my gosh just go blow your nose!
4 Loud chewing noises, UGH
5 The worst sound on the planet… fingernails on a chalkboard. I can not stand that horrible sound!
Mix and Match Mama says
Coffee, yes! What a good one! Thank you for your list!! I love it!
Kay says
I am SO WITH you on swallowing. If someone sighs “ahhh” after!, they loudly swallow I’m EVEN madder. And chewing loudly is also going to make me enraged.
I totally agree with the ocean being one of the best sounds! Two others I love are the music of an ice cream truck (it’s just so jolly and happy and means smiling kids!) and the sound of a train whistle late at night-so cozy!
Lyssy says
All I can think of is my bottom sounds – my husband chugging his green drink and all that swallowing noise, anytime he eats, and the sound of his razor after I clean the sink ha!
Kelly Franks says
I feel Andrew on the spitting. Drives me bonkers! I’m so thankful my husband is not a spitting person and therefore my son is not either!
Danielle says
I decided years ago to turn off the dryer “finish alarm.” Do I have to just guess or see if I hear it? Yep. Is it way better than that loud thing? Yep! We also silenced our microwave buttons and alarms completely, which comes with its own challenges — but it’s all WORTH IT. 😉
Allison says
Try it! I use ‘silk’ and it is a decent sound to wake up to lol!
Elana says
Sorry but how in the world did nobody put “snoring” as a worst sound?!?
Also this is more irrational but- sirens/alarms on commercials or shows. Idk why but my anxiety spikes and I get so annoyed! That one may be particular to me 🤣
Laci L Murray says
YES to all of this post!!!! I love nothing more than my sound machine for sleep, but once I am up it is the first thing I make sure is off.
Emilee says
The white noise of the baby monitor (when it’s not being used) is one of my LEAST favorite sounds in the world! My husband always forgets to turn it off, and I question his sanity each and every time I have to remind him. Haha!
Jessica says
OMG, the dentist drill… you are right! You can totally taste that sound. THE.WORST!
Andrea Conrad says
Shay, I was waiting to see you list country music as one of your least favorite sounds. I know it’s one of mine (plus Irish music…it’s just so gross 😂)
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh, why didn’t I say that?! Bahahaha! That would have been too funny!
K.K. says
Ooh, this is fun!! I agree with you in top 5: ocean and crackling fire!! Those are both amazing! And – instead of the dryer, it’s the dishwasher sound that I LOVE for much of the same reasons you like the dryer. I love the sound of shoes on gravel… And the two year old voice – you know when it’s not quite a kid voice yet… OH YES… precious.
Julie Connelly says
Oh my gosh!!!! That is the EXACT same reason I now HAVE to sleep with a sound machine!!!!!! My husband made fun of me cuz I used the baby monitor waaaay too long, but it was just for the sound machine in my son’s room. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Jessica Tribbett says
Totally off topic, but, have you heard of The New Look on Apple TV? I haven’t watched yet but saw a promo of it and thought of you. It’s the story of how Christian Dior and his contemporaries, including Coco Chanel, Pierre Balmain and Cristóbal Balenciaga, navigate the horrors of World War II and launch modern fashion. I can’t wait to give it a try!
Mix and Match Mama says
I have not! I’m going to look it up now!
sandi says
Bottom Five:
5/ my husband’s electric toothbrush when I am reading
4/ the dentist drill
3/ a phone ringing in the middle of the night – it is never good
2/ the ice maker when I’m the only one home – I jump every time
1/ someone on speaker phone at the grocery store – I do not need to hear your business
Top Five:
5/ nature sounds – birds chirping in the spring, thunder or rain
4/ the cello – someone above mentioned this and it is the most gorgeous of all instruments
3/ deep bass wind chimes – not the high pitched twinkly kind
2/ hearing the garage door go up when my college kids come home – if it is possible I always run to the door and stand beside it so when they come in I’m like three inches from them… they jump in shock every time and act like they do not like it but I hope they remember I always greeted them and on the rare occassions I cannot make it to the door, I hope they miss seeing me there.
1/ worship music – it can make a bad day better
Julie says
I totally agree about the dentist’s drill. You think about all the improvements and innovations in “just” the medical world….why in heaven’s name can’t they make a silent drill?
Michelle says
Baby and toddler belly laughing is the best! I cannot help but start laughing when I see this!
Lori Whittington says
I am right there with you on the dentist drill. Why does it smell so bad?!?! Two words for you….brown noise instead of white noise….I don’t know why but for some reason it is just better! Let us know if you try it. 🙂
Erin H says
Love these lists! My top 5: birds chirping, my 5 year old’s true laugh (she also has an annoying fake one. ha), the ocean, church bells, leaves blowing in the wind. Bottom 5: CHEWING. gah. just the worst. The cats bathing themselves or licking anything, silverware scraping a plate, burping, clipping fingernails (I cannot even tell you the number of times I’ve heard that at a desk IN AN OFFICE. WHY??????). Tied for 5 would also be people talking loudly on the phone – can you tell I’m working from our office more now? Ha.
Casey Callaham says
Top Five:
1. rain
2. a funny laugh
3. a band unexpectedly finding a groove & jamming
4. a crackling fire
5. church bells – they are so charming
Bottom Five:
1. teeth on a fork
2. loud gulpers or swallows
3. donkeys
4. coughing
5. overly loud vehicles
Mix and Match Mama says
Donkeys. Just that you said donkeys has me lol!
Kelly Webb says
Love it! I was actually outside this morning and was just savoring the sun on my face and the birds chirping. Definitely love being in a blind and just being and listening. Nature isn’t always quiet and deer can be so noisy and funny. The ocean is most definitely a favorite!! And babies laughing, that gurgly, giggly sound is the best.
Sheaffer says
The finger slurping kicks up my gag reflex just thinking about it.
Amy T says
#1 worst – the hacking sound right before your dog vomits.
Mix and Match Mama says
We were going over our lists at dinner last night, and Andrew was sad that he hadn’t included this one. Terrible, terrible sound!
Toni :0) says
These are fun.
Top 5:
5) fire crackling
4) birds singing (although I hate crows/starlings!)
3) baby giggles
2) our Hot Wheels Camaro when it’s first started
1) ocean/Lake Michigan or Lake Huron waves
Bottom 5:
5) chisel/scrapping on nail file
4) smacking of lips/slurping, just ewww
3) bass/hum of generators (these are the same IMHO)
2) constant dog barking
1) leaf blowers, they are maddening
Mix and Match Mama says
And the neighbors always pull those leaf blowers out early on a Saturday morning too, right?!
Toni :0) says
You are not wrong LOL 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Also, I can’t believe I forgot to include dog vomit as well. 🤣🤣🤣
Gail says
Loud thumping bass…..
Once when my husband and I were on our way to visit my dad in assisted living, we were stopped at a red light and my husband said who’s playing that loud bass! How annoying. We were looking around trying to figure it out and then I turned the radio up just a notch and it was us! 🤪😂 Mandisa’s Overcomer was playing but just the bass coming through (when you don’t turn it all the way down!). We both chuckled and realized we must be old to not notice it was us making the annoying sound.
Natasha says
So no KFC for your family?!?!? Finger lickin’ good!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
(As I gag reading your comment…)
Katie says
You might enjoy taking this fun quiz: What is your most neglected sense? https://gretchenrubin.com/quiz/the-five-senses-quiz/
Gretchen Rubin has done lots of research on how to tap into our five sense in every day life and appreciate all the little things around us each day. I’d be curious if you’re correct–that sound and smell are your most appreciated–and which ones you most neglect. I found it to be a fun way to learn more about myself and how I see/hear/taste/smell/feel the world around me.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m going to do it right now!! THANK YOU!!!
Charlene says
My number one is the ocean as well! Nothing soothes my soul like the sound of the ocean. I feel like all questions have answers at the ocean. I often feel closest to God when I’m walking along an empty shore. What I really thought was cool was that 5 minutes after reading this post my dog yawned and I heard my daughter say “Aww. Tipsy’s yawns are so cute!” Such a coincidence.
Kelly says
Love the ocean, silence after snow, all spring sounds, thunderstorms…
Can’t stand the recent tik tok IG trend of nail tapping on products while talking or demonstrating. Actually makes me want to scream! But I also don’t like nail tapping or clicking of any sort in life.
And agree with Andrew- low bass is annoying, too! Aaah, would rather think of the ocean! (And we have a crackling fireplace on youtube we play at bedtime in the winter… so soothing!)
Colleen T says
I love the sound of the Roomba. My husband and kids cannot stand it and will run out of the house to avoid it but I absolutely love it because it’s the sound of someone who is cleaning, that is not me!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love this!!
Julie Harris says
These made me laugh. I am right there with you and Andrew on the DRINKING…my husband slurps his coffee and I legitimately have to leave the room before my head spins around and I say unkind things. Thankfully, it’s only on weekends as I am up WAY earlier than him during the week. Second would be the spitting…YES Andrew. Who does that? Not ever ok.
Patty Anderson says
On Sunday in church someone in the row behind me blew their nose 3 times in a row, and I about gagged! NO to nose blowing in public. Just excuse yourself and go to the bathroom! And a huge NO to private cell phone conversations in public which AREN’T private!
Yes and amen to the sound of the ocean. Brings me to a place of calm and serenity every single time. I just close my eyes and I’m one with God.
Amy Branderhorst says
I knew from the title this post was made for me.
Lawn mower combined with the smell of freshly mowed grass=heaven on earth.
I have misophonia which is basically rage when you hear certain noises. This is me with mouth noises. If I hear someone chewing, slurping, licking, crunching basically any mouth noise it makes me go mad crazy and I want to harm everyone involved making the sound lolol. My hubby loves this trait about me….
Love reading other responses to this!
Robin says
I don’t know if I have a bottom and top five, but my least favorite sound is when people are trying to clear their throats before spitting and then the spitting itself…ugh. I am lucky that at my dentist’s office headphones are offered for patients to wear. They also have a tv screen positioned that can be watched during procedures.
Michael Ann says
I can’t stand to hear anyone whistling. Also someone scraping their fork against their teeth when taking a bite! Yikes
Debbra says
I had to laugh reading these. I absolutely cannot stand people licking their fingers when they eat AND I detest loud eaters and drinkers. No, thank you to all of that! Ha!
MelanieL says
Laugh Out Loud at the sound machine one, that hits deep. Seriously can’t sleep without it but I’m a raging lunatic if it isn’t shut off immediately. Why are we like this? But a grown man yawning may TAKE ME DOWN one day. I really hope it doesn’t. Maybe I should get a puppy…:)
Ashley P says
Lol, my sister can’t stand the sound of macaroni and cheese being mixed together 😂 I find it hilarious.
Mix and Match Mama says
I could not love this comment more. It’s insane and brilliant at the same time. I’m dying!
Ann Bauer says
I never slept with a sound machine until I married my husband 17 years ago. I can’t sleep without it now. I’m with you turn it off when you get up but it is not that annoying to me as the fan in the bathroom!! NOW that is a sound that drives me crazy!!
Katie Stewart says
That’s a solid list!
My top 5:
5. Grain bin dryers… if your husband grew up on a farm, maybe he can relate? It’s a soothing sound that replaces my sleep sound machine during harvest. 😁
4. An early, quiet morning.
3. Tennis shoes squeaking on a gym floor.
2. A newborn coo
1. Hearing my three daughters laugh. The BEST.
Bottom 5:
5. Crying. I’m not insensitive, I just cannot take the sound of crying.
4. Lawn mowers.
3. Ice makers
2. Static on a radio station.
1. People dragging their feet. Literally. Pick up your freaking feet.
Mix and Match Mama says
Ice makers, yes!!!
Alison says
Haha!! I agree with so many of these…spitting. Gross! I can’t stand anyone drinking loudly, slurping/eating soup. I also can’t stand loud chewing. Just make it stop! Also… give me the ocean sound all day every day. Thanks for sharing!
Shannon Garrison says
Top 5-
1. Ocean waves early in the morning when no one else is around.
2. Music- especially instrumental- I listen at work and at home while reading often.
3. Laughter- it’s definitely contagious.
4. Hearing someone genuinely compliment me or thank me for something.
5. Fire crackling on a cold day.
Bottom 5-
1. My dog licking everything especially when it’s bedtime.
2. Dentist drill- totally agree!!
3. Kids dropping a metal water bottle on a tile floor. I’m a teacher and this happens SO often. It makes you jump out of your skin!
4. Honking when driving- people love to honk these days for no reason. It annoys me so much.
5. Someone who revs up their engine of their car when driving or just has a really loud car. It doesn’t make you look cool. Haha 🤪
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, thank you and AMEN!!
Tina says
Best- new baby noises, rain in the trees, sprinkler like my grampa had, coffee being poured in a mug and the ocean
Worst- coughing, children whining, yappy dogs barking, any conversation on speaker phone, iPhone alarm.
Jennifer says
These are such a hoot! The comments have me cracking up! A sound I cannot STAND is the sound of someone clipping their fingernails. Mainly my husband. 🤣 Like, YUCK. Shut the bathroom door while you clip. And make sure every last piece gets thrown away.
Faith says
Reading Andrew’s list made me think of an annoying sound for me. When someone’s car bass is SO LOUD, it’s obnoxious and I feel my own car move. This happened in a Target shopping center before Christmas and I’m pretty sure THE ENTIRE SHOPPING CENTER heard it and it’s not a small one.
Jenn W. says
The sound of someone clinking silverware on a glass to make a toast MAKES ME IRRATIONALLY RAGEY.
Laura Crenshaw says
I think I need a sound machine!!! What sound machines do you use?
And I love these posts!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Madeley and Smith use legit old school ones from when our kids were babies, but Kensington and Ashby ask their Alexas to turn on white noise and then Andrew and I use an app called White Noise.
Carissa says
I love these posts! I’ve been a very long time reader (this is the only blog I read anymore, time is precious!) and just have to say the content this year is SO GOOD!
Sounds:
LOVE
1. Christmas music
2. ocean
3. the sound of walking on a beach boardwalk
4. leaves (the crunchy fall leaves underfoot and rustling of leaves in the trees in summer when there’s a slight breeze)
5. old familiar TV theme songs
honorable mentions: skee ball, sound of ice cubs crackling in a drink, and the din at a restaurant (people talking, glasses clinking, silverware etc. – this was the sound I missed most during covid and only knew I missed it when watching a movie and heard it after not hearing it for some time and felt this pang of sadness/longing)
HATE
1. nails on chalkboard
2. kids fighting/bickering with each other
3. people licking fingers to flip pages in a book
4. scraping of a chair on the floor
5. grinding teeth
Mix and Match Mama says
This is a REALLY solid list! I love, love your #1!!
Amy says
Top Sound is the Ocean. It’s majestic and all I can think about is how beautiful and masterful our Creator is when I hear it.
The opposite of that…dogs licking themselves. My dogs can be two rooms away from me and I will still hear it. Once I hear it, I can’t hear anything else and it MUST STOP.
Love these posts!
Tamara R says
How is the crack of the bat not in your top five? 😉 (I’m so ready for baseball season!). The sound of the ocean is my number one too!
