Today is the very last LET’S LOOK of 2020!
Once a month, Erika and I do a little link up where we “look” at different aspects of our lives (and then if you blog, you share and link up too!). Adios, 2020. Anyone else ready for 2021?!
Right this very second, it’s 7:03 on Sunday morning…and this is my view…
…I’m under a blanket with coffee, there’s a fire, a tree, I’m watching The Holiday on my phone (which I had to pause to take this pic) and…
…a snoring dog sleeping next to me. It’s the perfect time to talk about today’s topic…CHRISTMAS CARDS 🙂 . Anyone else want some light, easy, totally Christmas-y fluff to read this morning? I do. I need lots of that this year.
So, I haven’t sent out this year’s card (hopefully, they’re going out today or tomorrow!), but I’m going to share cards of Christmas past. Settle in and enjoy…
2019
2018
2017
2016
2015
2014
2013
And I couldn’t find our card for 2012, but I found this little tiny picture (ha).
This year, we had family pictures taken (and they’re gorgeous!), but I ended up using a candid iPhone pic on our card…because it just felt more “us”. So, once my cards go out, I’ll share them here too!!
Thank you so much for reading all of our Let’s Look this year! Here’s a little recap in case you want to go back and catch one you missed…
Here’s what we “looked” at this year…
In January, we looked at our bedside tables.
In February, we looked at our winter wardrobe.
In March, we looked at what’s inside our bags.
In April, we looked at how we typically celebrate Easter.
In May, we looked at our weekend.
In June, we looked at how we can make sure we’re encouraging racial diversity at home
In July, we looked at our summer wardrobes.
In August, we looked at our desks.
In September, we looked at school pics.
In October, we looked at how we pumpkin
In November, we looked at our holiday menus.
If you have suggestions for things we can “look” at in 2021, please comment and share! I’m about to make our prompts for next year and would covet your input!!
Merry Wednesday, friends!!! xo

Erika Slaughter says
Loved seeing all these cards through the years!
Jenn says
Love your cards. Do you use the same photographer every year?
Mix and Match Mama says
We’ve been doing cards since Smith was born, and we’ve used 4 or 5 photographers. All of these pics are by Narci Dreffs. Merry Christmas, Erica!
Lauren Sibley says
Hi Shay! Where do you order your cards from?
Mix and Match Mama says
My friend Andrea always creates them for me and orders them from her preferred vendor. She doesn’t make them for the public any more, so that’s why I didn’t link them, but she still makes mine every year 🙂 .

Merry Christmas! That was a fun walk down Memory Lane. I’ve been reading your blog since right after your brother was on The Bachelor, so I feel like I’ve seen your kiddos grow up- because I have! Thanks for always sharing your life with us. Have a lovely day.

Merry Christmas, Jennifer!!
Mindy Tierney says
This is the first year we are not doing photo holiday cards. Just wasn’t feeling it. My daughter turns 16 this month. Maybe bc she is getting older? Maybe bc of covid. Just never did pics etc. Last year we got a lot less cards than in the past. Wasn’t sure if it was bc the kids are older etc. Wondering if others thought the same thing.
Mix and Match Mama says
Honestly? I’ve been having this convo a lot with my girlfriends! You’re not alone, Mindy!
Elizabeth says
Did Narci take your professional photos this year?
Mix and Match Mama says
Hi Jill, this year, she did not! Our friend Brooke did instead!

Elizabeth….
Heather Stanton says
They are all so fun! My favorite is 2015 and Ashby’s smile! She was so shy when your family went to get her. She looks like the radiant Shull that she is in that card.
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you, Heather!! That was a sweet year. xo
Dana says
I love seeing how everybody changed over the years!! And your color coordination is always spot-on. ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank youuuuuu!xx
Alicia says
Cute! My Christmas cards are very 2020. They sent me the wrong version first, so had to re-order. That order got lost in the mail for 2 weeks and am currently waiting for the THIRD set to be sent to me. Naturally, this was the earliest I have ordered my cards. Ha. #2020
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh! Can this year be over with by now or what?!
Connie says
Beautiful family! I made your pumpkin bread yesterday. It is SO GOOD!! Have a great week Shay! ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwww!! Yay!!! Thank you for letting me know!!
Jen says
Gorgeous!!!
Let’s look at how you list your TBR (to-be-read) books and organize that!
Katie says
Cute cards! I am making your crock pot brisket today ?
In 2021, I would like to look at how you grew your businesses. I am a small business owner myself and love to hear from other women who have grown businesses. Thanks!
Jenn says
I’m hoping that I get more cards than I did last year, it’s always so fun to see how friends and family grow through the year and I feel like we all could use a little pick me up after this rough year! This year my holiday card gets to double as a Save the Date for my wedding! Looking forward to sharing my new family with everyone!
Jennifer Curtis says
Your card from 2014 I did a double take…you look like your momma in this one 🙂
Kelly says
The Shull babies through the years are everything!;)
Lois Hilty says
Will you kindly share the details (brand, where you bought it, performance, etc.) of the oatmeal colored throw/blanket in which you are wrapped for your Sunday morning photo? I’m having difficulty locating one that won’t shed, develop fuzzy balls, collect “stuff” from everything it has contact, etc. Thanks, Shay.

Pottery Barn!
Beth Graves says
These are all so great and I love seeing the kids grow and change! Kensington suddenly looks like a teenager! Beautiful cards of a gorgeous family! Can’t wait to see this year’s!
Sarah M. says
Suggestion for next year – how we do a special meal at our house, like pizza night, taco night, or whatever. It’s not necessarily a recipe but a regular occurrence at your house.
Mix and Match Mama says
Love that!!
Dana says
Loved looking at all your previous Christmas cards and seeing how your sweet family has grown! Getting and giving Christmas cards each year is my favorite thing…going to the mailbox in December just makes me happy! My kids are in their 20’s now and we still do photo cards, and one day as they marry and have babies it will be fun to add the new additions to our family card pics!!
Tami says
I love the cards! I hadn’t sent cards for 4 years but it’s 2020 so I got busy. I had the best day yesterday writing and addressing cards. I went through our church directory and sent cards to all of the widows and shut-ins. I took the time to add notes and letters. And I prayed for each person as I addressed the cards. I was so blessed to spend this time thinking of others.
Christi says
Tami – that is so incredibly kind. Maybe it will motivate me to continue to do cards again.
Leticia says
Tami I think that is a great idea! I had stopped sending Christmas cards awhile ago, but this year I think sending and receiving encouragement through a card is much needed. Thanks for sharing!
Britt says
As someone who loves a good pattern, I couldn’t help but notice that your cards alternate between “Merry Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”! I love it!! Your cards and family are beautiful!
Serena W. says
Let’s look at … your closet 🙂 Love seeing your Christmas cards over the years, you have such a beautiful family!! Christmas cards are something I always look forward too but feel each year fewer and fewer people send them out. Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to see your card this year!
Kim says
Love your cards! Have you done a let’s look at your phone? Favorite case, favorite apps, how you organize them, etc. How many pics, notifications, etc. do you have at any one time? I’m always curious about random details of people’s lives like that. Or let’s look at how you store your holiday decorations when you’re not using them is another one.
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s a great idea!
Donna Young says
Shay I have to say you get prettier every year! Loved looking at all of the cards through the years…
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh thank you! You’re really kind. xx
Joanne says
What a lovely look back!
Deena says
I loved the cards over the years. Everyone is growing so fast!
We have a sweet baby granddaughter this year so did a photo card of us holding her at 2 weeks and one of her wearing her daddy’s elf outfit from 1987. They’re both July babies.
Mix and Match Mama says
How sweet is that?!?!
Rachel says
All of your cards are good, but that 2014 card…Smith and Kensington were SO cute!
Allena Gurley says
I saw another ‘Let’s Look’ suggestion for TBR stack – I love that idea. Was also thinking fridge/pantry/freezer – I love seeing how people organize their stuff and what all they keep. Another idea could be your personal style – like what are your go-to outfits that define you? A list of favorites – favorite book, movie, meal, holiday, stuff like that.
Donna James says
Thanks Shay for spreading more Christmas cheer with the cards of your family. What great memories. I love reading your blog and look forward to any of your posts. I’d love to see more about your Mom and decorating. My grandchildren are around your children’s ages and I’d love to hear about some of your parent’s’ traditions with your kids. I am anxiously awaiting Kensington’s bedroom and your bedroom/bathroom update, as I am doing the same. Blessing to you and yours this Christmas season!
