Today is LET’S LOOK!
Once a month, Erika and I do a little link up where we “look” at different aspects of our lives (and then if you blog, you share and link up too!). This year, the prompts for Let’s Look have been all upside down…
Here’s what we’ve been “looking” at so far this year…
In January, we looked at our bedside tables.
In February, we looked at our winter wardrobe.
In March, we looked at what’s inside our bags.
In April, we looked at how we typically celebrate Easter.
In May, we looked at our weekend.
In June, we looked at how we can make sure we’re encouraging racial diversity at home
In July, we looked at our summer wardrobes.
In August, we looked at our desks.
In September, we looked at school pics.
…but today’s prompt is spot on. Today, we’re looking at HOW WE PUMPKIN!
Ohhhhhhh…we pumpkin hard around here. In fact, there’s a good chance that at least three of us are wearing pumpkin shirts and consuming something with pumpkin spice in it as you’re reading this blog post. I saw these two quotes last week and both made me LAUGH OUT LOUD…
And this one too…
…bahahaha! Aren’t those hysterical?!
Okay, you could take this post a gazillion ways, but I’m going to take it as “how we add pumpkin to our recipes” because that’s my personal love language. (Yes, pumpkin in food is a love language. It’s totally my love language!) From savory to sweet, I have lots of pumpkin recipes you need to try including a brand new EASSSSSSSY twist on a classic…
…YES! Maple Pumpkin Sausage Balls. #winning You can see the little recipe HERE. These are the yummiest for breakfast…so make sure you try them!
Okay, brace yourselves…I’m posting a lot of pumpkin recipes right now for you to enjoy. I love pumpkin season SO VERY MUCH!!!!

I was wondering do you ever go apple picking in the fall?

We did when we lived in Michigan, but that’s not really a thing here where we live (like it is up north!).

I made your Pumpkin Caramel Neiman Marcus Bars last week and during baking, the crust floated up to the top and baked in about half the pan. It tasted fine but they didn’t look anything like your pretty picture and I was a bit embarrassed to take them to my outdoor neighborhood picnic as some of the bars looked very pumpkiny and some looked very crusty. How can I avoid that happening again?

I don’t like pumpkin spice, because I don’t like cinnamon. Thanks to your blog, I do like savory pumpkin dishes! 🙂

I loved your posts on time management! It’s nice to have some ideas on how a busy working mom does her day and still feels some what organized and sane. :). A few questions for you – what do you do to avoid the 4:00 slump? I feel like I have great energy all day and then right when kids need me most and it’s crunch time with activities, homework, dinner prep, packing lunches, etc. I feel so sleepy. Do you have a coffee as late as 3:00? Just curious.
As for reading, do you read hard copies of books or on a Kindle?
I would love for you to continue posting on keeping an organized house amongst all the business – you seem to be good at balancing this and showing us your fridge/pantry/closet/mudroom organizing is helpful! The Home Edit on Netflix is inspiring but a little overboard and expensive to buy all of the containers and then color code. It does look pretty though! I love your blog and your focus on Christ being the center of your life. Thank you!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I feel like if I were to be in a slump, it would be before my kids get home from school and not after…once 3:00 PM hits, we’re going 90mph. I do love an afternoon coffee to help pick me up! Thank YOU for such a sweet comment!
Sarah says
Are you doing a daily east post this week like you said?!? I’m so ready for it!!! ??
Chandra says
Do you have a post on how to read the Bible for a “beginner”? How to pray etc? Would love some advice. Thanks.
Mix and Match Mama says
I have a blog post here about it, but if it doesn’t answer your questions, please email me! mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com
