Happy Thursday, friends!
I have a home update to share today 🙂 .
Come on in…
…here’s the before and now…
…here’s the after 🙂 .
The travertine before…
…marble after.
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH IT!!!
That’s basically the whole post. Ha! I just wanted to share my new marble floors with you.
I’ve been Pinning and looking and obsessing over marble floors for a while now and after we put the house back together (the travertine wasn’t replaced when the water damage occurred), we decided to do it. It’s just white and grey marble (14″ squares), but it instantly updated and elevated this space.
So, that’s all for today. If you’re looking for me, I’m standing on my marble marveling over how much I love it. You know how sometimes you do something to your house and the effect is great but not the wow/pop you were anticipating? This was the exact wow/pop I wanted. I love it.
On to the next project… 😉 .
Don’t forget, if you missed our other recently added/renovated rooms, they’re right here…
That’s it for this Thursday!
I’ll see you back here tomorrow! xx

It’s beautiful! Travertine is so pretty to but SO hard to clean! Curious – do you have a rug at your front door?
Mix and Match Mama says
We did, but we do not any more. For now, at least, I’m just going to leave it without one to enjoy the marble.
Emily says
Beautiful!! So pretty
Connie W. says
I Love the Black & White marble— it really makes that area Pop!?
Andrea Anderson says
That marble is gorgeous! Big impact for sure!
Lori Whittington says
Was this the construction during the 90s podcast episode? ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yup. They were ripping out the travertine. Bahahaha!
MelanieL says
Wow, I love this update!! Small with a mighty impact to the look and FEEL and that’s what it’s all about in our homes!
Julie Wilmoth says
Tell me about the chandelier in your foyer. I’m in love with it and your floors!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s from Restoration Hardware. We did add that when we were renovating the house last year! I have it smaller too in the downstairs guest bath (linked in this post too!). It comes in three different size options.
Elizabeth Whisler says
It’s GORGEOUS! I’ve heard you mention construction on stories and on your podcast and I’ve been wondering what you were up to next!
Marcy says
Love, love , love the marble floors .. that color/pattern looks beautiful in your entryway
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you so much!!
Jenny N says
It looks beautiful!!
Michele says
Looks beautiful! Was wondering if the floor ever gets slippery if you walk in with wet shoes?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t skated across it yet, but I’m sure we’ll need to be careful on rainy days.
Laura says
This looks absolutely awesome!!! When looking at the dining room, it looks like if someone is sitting in the end chair they would be going into the foyer. Is the dining table too large and hard to get around?
Mix and Match Mama says
I think it’s the angle of the pic. We sometimes take out the extra chairs and leaf depending on the occasion but for the most part, we leave it extended.
Natalie says
Will you do a post of your gym?? I’m sure it’s #goals ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! It’s on my to-do list!!
Kay says
It’s absolutely gorgeous! I wouldn’t know if the picture came from McKinney TX or a villa in Italy! Love it!!! I bet the dogs are slipping and sliding all over it! Lol!
Ramona says
I love them! Really does make a huge difference. Love your home. It’s so cozy.
Gianna says
Shay – this is everything!! Timeless and so classy. I hope you sit in your dining room and stare at it while enjoying a charcuterie board with Andrew!❤️

Hello! I wanted to share a brief update on my beautiful, amazing daughter, Rachel. I know that many of your followers have been praying for her and her family, and I just wanted to share her recent update. She has been absolutely AMAZING through this entire process (and I might add looks adorable with her little fuzz head), and has just handled all with such grace. THANK you for your continued prayers…
Good morning everyone? just thought I’d send an update:
Yesterday I had my 11th treatment, so next week I’ll have my 12th (final) chemo treatment ?
Monday I had a follow up with oncologist at Roswell. Basically just bloodwork, quick physical exam & chatting. Everything looked good.
Here’s what’s coming:
March 1st – last chemo??
March 7th – echocardiogram
(Probably) March 8 – first treatment without chemo. It’s the same (non-chemo) drug I’ve been having, but dosage will go up some, and I’ll be able to get it once every 3 weeks rather than every week.
March 14 – MRI and CT scan (Roswell)
March 24 – follow up with oncologist (Roswell)
And assuming everything goes as scheduled March 29 – (regular) treatment
After chemo I will also be starting a drug to suppress estrogen.
So March will be busy, but then Lord willing, things should slow down, medically speaking. I have a follow up with breast surgery in May, and then shouldn’t need to have a mammogram until September.
Whew ?
Thanks for all of your love, prayers, & support. I can’t imagine going through this without it.
Love you all!! ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
Debbie, I am SO GLAD you posted this!!! I have been praying for sweet Rachel, and I’m so thrilled with this update. I love having specific things to pray over (and I know other readers do too!). Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with our community. Praying so hard!!

Absolutely beautiful!❤️

Love this pic! Have been thinking a lot about Marble myself! My biggest concern is – is it slippery? I live in MA and I don’t want kiddos in wet boots slipping! Any thoughts?
Mix and Match Mama says
I mean…it’s probably too soon to tell you. I can always put a rug down if it becomes a problem!
Karah Stracener says
I love the update. It is absolutely gorgeous and really makes a statement. Thanks for sharing.
Debbie says
Love it!
Kelly says
Love the update!! Random side question – we also have wood stairs, and they sometimes get slippery. Do you have any suggestions on how to make them less slippery, or have you treated yours with anything? Thanks! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Hmmmm…I don’t think I’ve thought about the stairs being slippery. I will say, sometimes, certain spots on our wood floors (especially in our kitchen) get slick, but our stairs don’t.
