Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful three-day weekend!! Our kids were out of school both Friday and Monday, so we tried to make the most of it. On Friday, we surprised them with an overnight trip to the Gaylord Texan Resort with the Slaughter fam and then on Sunday, we hosted a combo Labor Day/my mom’s birthday party at our house. It was the perfect way to spend the weekend 🙂 .
But now though, it’s officially September over here, and we’re fully committed to making the most of the season in every way possible. Don’t forget, you still have time…
…to make a meme and win a Gucci bag!!
If you missed our meme…
…here it is 🙂 . You can see all of the details on my post HERE about this contest. You guys are CRACKING ME UP with your memes!!!! We have been dying over your cleverness. You can see them all if you look up the hashtag #memeintofallwithMMM on Instagram.
Okay, now on to today’s post!
Two weeks ago, I shared…
…Madeley’s new bedroom, and today, I’m going to share Ashby’s!
But first, let’s back up…when we built our home in 2014, we had two kiddos and were in the process of bringing home our third and final kiddo, Miss Ashby.
Her room looked like…
…and it was perfect and sweet, and we loved it.
But thennnnnnnn…God called us to adopt another precious little girl (Four kids?! We never dreamed that would happen?!), so we changed it up a bit in 2016 for Mades…
…and added a pretty cool loft and closet for the two girls.
Then, when we started our new addition in 2020, we had space, so we added on a bedroom for Madeley, buuuut it stayed empty until this May when the girls officially decided it was time for her to move out. So, I blogged the pics of Madeley’s new room HERE, but we also updated Ashby’s room too 🙂 . When I asked her what kind of bedroom she wanted now that she’s getting her own space and a big ten year old…her choice was “beachy/surf girl” (hence why her little sister decided to have “beachy/Nantucket girl” room.
So here it is…
Come on in!
Ashby had a lot of opinions, and I tried to let her make it “her” at every turn.
She wanted to keep her ceiling pink but paint the walls white.
She picked out all of her own bedding, the rug and decorations. Ashby channeled her Lovie (an interior designer) and wanted to look thoroughly through everything online and in stores. I think the result is very “Ashby” 🙂 . We replaced the original carpet and put in hardwood floors (Smith’s room is now the only room left in the house with carpet). We were able to use Kensington’s former bed (we had saved it after her room makeover last year), but my personal favorite part is that amazing rug.
The sign above her bed is an Etsy find! It’s custom (her name and birth year) and looks like it’s made of wood, but it’s not. I love it!
Even upstairs got repainted white (with the pink ceiling, of course 😉 ).
For now, the girls still share this closet since they kind of wear each others clothes and really enjoy getting dressed together.
And that is Ashby’s room 🙂 .

Her new room is so cute and her spirit is so evident in its design. Love the pink and teal color combo throughout. It’s beautiful
Laura says
Love it! Are. The hardwood floors better than the carpet/? The changes are fabulous. What do you do with the other furniture, such as, the black bed, bunk beds, etc.? Is Smith getting a bedroom refresh? Thanks for sharing. 😊
Mix and Match Mama says
One of our friends is a single dad with twin daughters who are four, so they now have the bunk beds and cabinet that were in her room 🙂 . Carpet is just so gross over time (especially with pets), so we love hardwood floors way more. Smith is quite content with his “man cave”. I think he’ll keep it until college. Ha!
Teresa says
Super cute… Just like that Ashby!
Kristine says
Ok so I know I wasn’t a huge fan of Madeleys room but Ashby’s room is amazing. Interesting how differently they decorated but now that I see the two rooms I think I get it.

A perfect room! 💖

It’s just adorable 🌸🌸🌸
Sarah says
Hey! Real quick question. What mattresses do you have for your girls?
Mix and Match Mama says
All four kiddos now have Sleep Number mattresses. Not the one like Andrew and I have (that raises and lowers), but the basic model. We are Sleep Number people over here!
Rosemary Davis says
I am loving the color combinations! A perfect room for Ashley!
Laci Murray says
I love both Mades and Ashby’s new rooms! The closet is still my fav part!
Andrea says
So pretty, and the “courageous little soul” sign could not have found a better room to reside in than the bedroom of your sweet, little warrior!
Darcy says
This room is adorable…it just warms your heart and brings a smile. The perfect combination of beach surf, whimsical, and classic too! I love that rug, but also so glad you found a place to keep those adorable house pictures…they seem French Madeline like, but they are so unique and evoke warmth and coziness. Absolutely love this room!!! 🙂
Patty says
Courageous little soul…just perfect!
Casey says
Struggle with what size beds to get my kids in their room make over. Two boys have shared a room but now getting their own rooms. What size do your kiddos have?
Mix and Match Mama says
Kensington has a queen but the other three kids have full. Her room is larger, so that size works, but I think the full/double size works better in the smaller rooms.
Mary Anne Duke says
The girls rooms are super cute.
I would love to get the website to order hair bows. You mentioned many moons ago and I believe it was a friend of yours. I have another little girl in our family so need to order more.
Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! My cousin Casey owns onestopbowshop.com. Her bows are amazing! My girls wear the size XL Jumbo!
