Happy THURSDAY, friends!
This week, I’m doing a little Thursday Faves but don’t worry, I’ll still be here tomorrow, so please make sure you come on back 🙂 .
Today is a BIG BIG DAY because our resident Big Fella…

…is having a BIRTHDAY!

Goodness, we are so grateful for this guy.

There are just not enough words to say about this man. He is the BEST dad, the BEST hubby, he works so hard to provide for his family and yet ALWAYS puts us first.

He is our handyman, our chauffer, our grocery getter, personal trainer, dog whisperer, pool guy/yard guy/car guy…he is THE GUY around here, and we love him so much.

We are so excited to celebrate YOU, Mr. Shull, all weekend long.
He’s clearly my #1 fave OF ALL TIME, but I do have a few more to share with you this week.
It’s a REALLY good mix to kick off our APRIL.
Speaking of Andrew…

Yesterday, I shared how the girls in our family spent the day AT TOKYO DISNEY, and today, I’m sharing THE BOYS’ SNOWBOARDING DAY!
If you want to see the pics and details from their day snowboarding in Japan, check that out RIGHT HERE 🙂 .

I know, I know, I know, I KNOW that I keep talking about the Acquired podcast…BUT this week, I listened to…

…this episode with Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and ONCE AGAIN, I will never see the brand/the store/the employees the same.
I LOVED THIS EPISODE!
Whether you drink Starbucks or not, YOU KNOW STARBUCKS, and I think you’ll find this episode absolutely fascinating.
I haven’t listened to an Acquired episode that I didn’t love, but this one now ranks up there at the top for me (along with the Trader Joe’s episode). Loved.

Springtime is dress time!
I have been rounding up dresses for church, travels, Nantucket, and days when it’s simply too darn hot to put on pants.
I bought, loved and kept all of these…and it’s an eclectic mix of retailers and price points.

My POLO DRESS is oh so cute! I can dress it up or dress it down. I bought it in black, but it does come in other colors too.
My wedges are HERE.

I love the ruffle neckline 🙂 .
I also love…

…THIS NAVY KNIT DRESS! It also comes in other colors.
I especially love…

…the two pockets on the front.
For sizing, I bought both of these dresses in xs.
A hawk lives in my backyard, and when I snapped this pic…

…he made an appearance 😉 .

Okay, last year, I bought myself one of these LUXLETIC DRESSES and wore it all summer long. I wore it so much that I bought a second one this year.
This is an “athletic-like” fabric, so it’s not only comfy, but I stayed cool and could actually move about in it. For a size reference, I bought a size 2.
I also love…

…the front pockets. (Pockets really just make a dress EXTRA good!)
And THIS DRESS here…

…I wore to church just last Sunday.
It’s under $50 and comes in so many different colors…BUT THE QUALITY far exceeds the price.
It feels much more luxurious than $48. It runs TTS (I bought xs).

On Tuesday, I wore THIS DRESS while working, going to my hair appointment, running errands, attending a cheer booster meeting…and it was so comfy that I kept it on while I made dinner and took the dogs on an evening walk with Andrew. It’s a Target find, y’all! (So are MY SANDALS!)
Both run TTS, I bought the dress in XS and the shoes in my usual 8.
And speaking of Target…

…THIS TENNIS SKIRT called my name 🙂 .

I love the stripe and…

…the little pleats. Of course, of course, I wore it with MY GAUZE TOP.

Spring is in the air around our house…

…and all the little details make me oh so happy…

…feels like April 🙂 .

Saturday afternoon was oh so special.
Andrew and I were invited to the birthday party honoring the father of the kiddos I used to nanny (from when I was 15 until I got married at 22)…

…I started babysitting Ethan when he was about 6 months old and then Ellie as soon as she was born…

…I traveled with them to family weddings, on vacation, I spent many nights over at their house…

…they were the first two kids I got to “mother” and goodness, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Outside of my own parents and brother, no other family poured as much into me and/or shaped me into who I am today more than this family.
Without a doubt, being a part of their family was one of the most influential things to ever happen to me.

So as you can imagine, my heart was SO SO FULL…

…getting to love on them again 🙂 .
Ethan is almost 30 and Ellie just turned 27. I could not stop hugging these two.
It was just the BEST day visiting with them, their parents, their grandmother and so many of their friends who last saw me when I was their nanny.
My heart is still so full.

What a fun post! It is so fun to see those littles we used to watch grown up turn into adults and parents. I didn’t nanny for them but our family lives next door to our neighbors for like 40.yrs and we did help with their kiddos. They were like our family our kids called the dad Papa just like another grandpa.
Hope Andrew has a great birthday…we have one coming up for our kiddo this month!
Have a great weekend!!!
